Joni Zillig, known in the local electronic dance music community as an enthusiastic supporter, dancer and DJ, suffered a serious injury last month while in California. She fell from the second floor of a friend's home and fractured a vertebrae in her lower back. She had a dangerous chip removed that was pressing against her spinal chord, and was stabilized with screws. She has been released from a month long stay in intensive care with orders to stay near the hospital until mid-December. mcooper writes: "Cooper's Landing is scheduling open mic sessions for Saturday evenings this winter. A well known local singer/songwriter will be hosting the sessions. Young singer/songwriters are encouraged to attend these open mic sessions. It is a great way to meet established musicians from our area. Later in the winter selected participants will have the opportunity to be video recorded by MoRivCC (www.morivcc.org). The videos will be added to the MoRivCC video archive and some of them will be shown on CAT TV and the MoRivCC-You Tube website. (http://www.youtube.com/morivcc) Call Cooper's Landing, 573-657-2544, for more information."

Weekly Poll
Eastside Tavern owner Salvatore Nuccio for Columbia mayor?
Hells yeah!!
I'm definitely interested in hearing more about his platform. FACT!
Only if there will be a weekly mayoral drink special at the Tavern.
This town could use a good power-bangin'.
I'm leaving my options open.
